A High-efficiency Plasma Power Supply Suitable for DC Glow Discharge Nitrogen Fixation Applications

This paper proposes a phase-shifted full-bridge high-voltage DC power supply based on peak current mode control, combined with an improved discharge circuit, aimed at enhancing the efficiency of atmospheric pressure non-equilibrium plasma nitrogen fixation. By optimizing the power supply design and eliminating the current-limiting resistor, the system's total energy consumption is reduced. A high-leakage transformer and current-limiting inductor are utilized to constrain the peak discharge current. Experimental results demonstrate that the system achieves stable low-energy discharge and operates within a high-efficiency range. Compared with traditional methods, this technique improves energy efficiency by over 60%, offering a novel approach to optimizing plasma nitrogen fixation technology.
