Health State Estimation of Lead-acid Batteries Based on Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy

Aiming at the problems of time-consuming and energy-consuming detection methods of lead-acid battery health state for substations at the present stage, a rapid detection method of battery health state based on electrochemical impedance spectroscopy (EIS) is proposed. Through open circuit voltage measurement and EIS test analysis of lead-acid batteries just out of the float state, an EIS equivalent circuit model is established, and then the relationship between the equivalent circuit model parameters and state of health(SOH) is used to establish a mathematical model to realize the rapid estimation of the SOH of the battery. Validation experiments show that a fast and more accurate estimation of battery SOH can be realized using this method, with a prediction error within 4%
