The Application Progress of Power Batteries in New Energy Ships

To clarify the future development direction of power batteries in ships and address issues such as the unclear development trajectory of new energy ships and the ambiguity of key adaptation points for power batteries, this paper analyzes the current application status and challenges of lithium-ion batteries and hydrogen fuel cells in ships. First, the working principles of lithium-ion and hydrogen fuel cells are briefly examined, and their applicability and research progress in the maritime field are assessed. A detailed analysis is conducted on the technical barriers and development limitations associated with the use of these two types of batteries in ships. Based on this, and considering the current state of domestic technological research, sustainable development paths and solutions are proposed to address the challenges of developing lithium-ion and hydrogen fuel cell-powered ships. Additionally, in light of current industry trends, this paper explores the feasibility of the coordinated development of these two types of power batteries in ships, as well as the potential for battery recycling.
