A High-Power Frequency-Doubling Current-Source Resonant Inverter for Induction Heating

A novel high-power frequency-doubling current-source induction heating system, designed for industrial applications, is proposed in this paper. The system employs a four-branch LCR resonant circuit and four current-source inverters. For any current-source resonant inverter, the resonant circuit is equivalently modeled as a CLC third-order load. The system adjusts the power and frequency by parallel capacitors, thereby expanding the range of output power and frequency. This structure eliminates the need for high-power high-frequency transformers. The proposed system can operate simultaneously or alternately, enabling the system to achieve both power and frequency multiplication.
