A Novel Design Hangar of Vertical Take-off and Landing Fixed-wing UAVs within USV

For the complex and diverse maritime combat environment, the sea-air collaborative operation of multiple drones/unmanned ships has been a favored pathway for water operations in the military and civilian fields. Drone clusters of Vertical take-offs and landing fixed-wing have been widely adopted in the military, civilian and commercial fields, especially in tasks that require long-term operations and large payloads. Therefore, it is crucial that providing comprehensive support for operations of the vertical take-off and landing fixed-wing drone cluster around unmanned ships. Recently, drone hangar equipment are expected to dealing with the storage and supply problems of drones. However, existing drone airports are usually designed to support only one or two drones, which has become the main factor restricting the sea-air cross domain operations of drone swarms. In this work, we proposes a novel design scheme of mechanical device for the vertical take-off and landing fixed-wing drone cluster cabin, as well as the virtual simulation. It is expected to provide comprehensive support for drone clusters completing complex tasks, including transportation, storage, takeoff, landing, charging, refueling, health check, etc.
