Moisture Estimation Method for Oil-Paper Insulation Based on the Moisture Hysteresis Loop

The insulation performance of oil-paper insulation is greatly affected by moisture, so it is very important to monitor its moisture content. However, due to the dynamic change of water in the operation of the transformer, it is difficult to obtain accurately. Focusing on the research of oil-paper insulation moisture estimation method based on moisture hysteresis loop has become an important means to solve this problem. By constructing a temperature-moisture unidirectional coupling calculation model, the moisture migration process under load mutation conditions is simulated, and the characteristics of the moisture hysteresis loop of the oil-paper insulation system are analyzed. On this basis, a moisture estimation method based on moisture hysteresis loop is proposed. The results show that this method can effectively estimate the moisture content of oil-paper insulation and provide strong support for condition monitoring and fault warning of power transformers.
