A Distribution Network Single-phase Grounding Fault Regional Protection Method Based on Zero-sequence Current Symbol Function

With the large-scale access and increasing penetration of distributed generation, the traditional protection algorithms of distribution networks that rely on single-point fault information are easily affected by distributed generation and struggle to meet the four requirements of relay protection. This paper adopts a distribution network regional protection method based on wide-area synchronous measurement signals. Firstly, it analyzes the relationship between the zero-sequence currents at the beginning of complex distribution network lines under single-phase ground faults. Then, it studies the location method of single-phase ground faults in distribution networks based on zero-sequence currents and proposes a distribution network regional protection method based on the sign function of zero-sequence currents. Finally, the effectiveness of the proposed method is verified through simulation experiments.
