A Unified Model for Efficient Application Life-Cycle Management in the Mobile-Edge-Cloud Continuum

The convergence of mobile, edge, and cloud systems creates a unified computing environment that allows applications to operate dynamically across a variety of platforms. To improve performance, lower latency, and optimize resource use, this paper presents A3-E, a comprehensive framework for managing application lifecycles within this ecosystem. A3-E utilizes the Functions as a Service (FaaS) model to efficiently distribute microservices across mobile, edge, and cloud layers. By enabling adaptive service allocation based on contextual and operational needs, A3-E utilizes the Functions a Service (FaaS) model. Experimental findings reveal that A3-E can reduce latency by as much as 90 % and battery usage by up to 74 %, offering a robust and scalable solution for real-time distributed applications.
