PV based Sensors for Smart Street Light Fault Detection and Tracking

This research study proposes a novel perspective on an embedded system which is designed for real time monitoring of street light infrastructure with immediate detection of faults. It is made up of various configuring sensors like voltage and temperature sensors for the operational assessment, light dependent resistors (LDRs) for counting day or night, as well as vibration sensors to gauge mechanical stress on poles. The next very pivotal problem that this system envisages is a correct location of faults regarding the streetlight supervision which is well solved using GPS-tracking based system. Moreover, a QR code would be coded at every pole to give a means of democratizing the reporting of damage to the lights through verification channels against complaints that are false. This proposed system is very efficient in the maintenance as based on real time data, it cuts on downtime incidence and ensures prompt resolution of any raised issues by transmitting data concerning faults to relevant authorities. The verification and analysis of the experimental results demonstrate that there has been an improvement in accuracy and speed of fault discovery over making repairs through conventional processes.
