The Construction of “AI + SAE” Model of Primary School English Smart Reading Classroom Pointing to Thinking Quality

Thinking quality has important value for developing students' intelligence level and improving their problem-solving ability. In the era of intelligence, it is significant to give full play to the empowering role of generative AI in primary school English reading teaching practice, strengthen language learning and thinking training, in order to improving the quality of students' thinking. Based on the Interactive Reading Model and the Thinking theory of “Triangular Structure”, this research adopts the methods of literature research and theoretical deduction, clarifies the connotation and generation process of thinking quality, gives full play to the role of generative AI. Exploring the teaching process of Creating reading scenarios(S)-Launch teacher-student-machine reading activities(A)-Conducting reading evaluation(E) in English reading classrooms pointing to thinking quality, the “AI + SAE” model of primary school English smart reading classroom pointing to thinking quality was constructed. Furthermore, with selecting the related teaching content of English in the sixth grade of primary school, two rounds of iterative experiments were carried out using design-based research to apply the “AI + SAE” model. The results show that the “AI + SAE” model of primary school English smart reading classroom could effectively improve students' thinking quality and English reading classroom effect, providing theoretical guidance and practical reference for further exploring the cultivation of thinking quality in English reading teaching.
