Advanced Digital Microfluidic Platform with Integrated SERS Sensor for On-Site Processing and Detection

This study presents an integrated digital microfluidic (DMF) platform combined with a surface-enhanced Raman spectroscopy (SERS) sensor for automated on-chip sample processing and detection. The system utilizes embossing technology to fabricate a semi-transparent SERS amplification stack (STSAS) integrated directly onto the DMF chip, enabling efficient exosome isolation and label-free SERS detection. Experimental results show a further 33% enhancement in SERS signal intensity, demonstrating the system's high sensitivity, stability, and reproducibility. The platform offers a versatile solution for real-time diagnostics, biomarker detection, and disease monitoring, with applications in clinical and environmental analysis.
