Statistical Model of Atmospheric Turbulence in Free Space Optical Communications based on Measured Signal Strength

This study investigates atmospheric turbulence in FSO systems, comparing Gamma-Gamma and log-normal distributions. Results indicate that the Gamma-Gamma distribution is accurate under most turbulence conditions, while the log-normal distribution performs better in very weak turbulence.
