Development of a BIM-Data Mining Integrated Digital Twin and Its Use for Lifecycle Management Tools

The integration of Building Information Modeling (BIM) with data mining techniques in a Digital Twin environment offers a transformative approach to lifecycle management in the built environment. This paper presents the development of a BIM-data mining integrated digital twin framework within the DATAWiSE project, leveraging AI-enhanced decision-support tools for energy optimization, predictive maintenance, and circular lifecycle assessment. Furthermore, the paper discusses how incorporating open-source green building initiatives, particularly gbXML, OpenStudio, and EnergyPlus, can enrich the energy modeling and real-time analytics capabilities. The proposed approach aligns with best practices from the Digital Twin Consortium and buildingSMART International to establish an open, interoperable, and scalable framework for sustainable building management.
