Negative Group Delay Achieved by SSPP with the Single Negative Dielectric Constant

To achieve negative group delay, a spoof surface plasmon polaritons (SSPPs) unit with a single negative dielectric constant is proposed in this paper. This negative group delay SSPP unit has a - 0.86 ns group delay at the 2.1 GHz cutoff frequency, while a single negative dielectric constant occurs near this frequency. Simulations show that the SSPP unit effectively compensates for group delay in the transmission of double-sideband modulated signals. This study provides new insights into efficient signal transmission and group delay control, with potential applications in high-speed communications and real-time sensing.
