Development of Model for Split Electrode Lead Carbon Battery

The goal of continuing research and development is to improve lead-acid hybrid batteries’ overall lifespan, charge-discharge characteristics, and electrochemical efficiency going forward. These batteries are anticipated to become more crucial to the energy transition as energy demands rise, especially in grid and sustainable mobility applications. Split electrode lead-carbon batteries will continue to be a dependable and affordable option for a range of large-scale and backup power solutions, even though lithium-ion technology is the industry standard for high-energy applications. In this research paper, the effect of carbon on split negative electrodes of lead-carbon batteries is studied. By varying different carbon and lead percentages, the ampere-hour of the battery is calculated. The split electrode stops falling in terminal voltage even after changing the electrode material as half of the negative electrode remains the same. This increases energy density without sacrificing power density. This paper introduced the carbon mixing phenomenon at negative electrodes to increase charge acceptance. It reduces internal resistance. This paper also tries to develop a model with the concentration of carbon and the capacity of the battery in the form of a polynomial equation. The terminology of split electrode lead-carbon battery, sulfation at an electrode, and selection of carbon has many aspects that are investigated in the paper
