A Slope Compensated Waveform Generator for Voltage Mode Buck DC-DC Converter

The loop gain of voltage mode buck Direct Current (DC)-DC converters is affected by the pulse width modulated wave duty cycle, which causes the loop performance to deteriorate when the power supply or output voltage changes. In this paper, a waveform generator based on log transformation of triangular wave is proposed. The waveform generated by this generator can compensate the effect of the change of duty cycle on loop gain by continuously changing the slope of the clock cycle. The simulation results show that the waveform generated by the generator can reduce the change of loop gain by about 21dB when the duty cycle changes from 0.02 to 0.95.
