Approximation of Fractional Order Systems Using Multimodel Approach

Fractional-order representation is required for many real-world dynamic systems that use non-integer order differential equations to model their behavior better. Analytically solving these equations, though, may be complicated. A novel method is proposed to approximate fractional-order dynamic systems with integer-order models, exploiting the benefits of a multi-model approach. The efficiency and performance of the proposed approach, especially in terms of the precision of approximation, is illustrated through a detailed comparative study with the already well-established Oustaloup approximation method.
