Online Compensation Strategy for Current Sensor Scaling Errors in Induction Motor Drive Systems

Current sensor scaling errors lead to inaccurate current measurements, resulting in imbalanced three-phase currents. These errors cause torque offset and ripple, ultimately degrading control performance. This study analyzes the impact of current sensor scaling errors on the measured currents and the voltage commands. Based on this analysis, a compensation method using the phase voltage commands is proposed. The proposed method is applicable even under varying speed and torque conditions. To validate the effectiveness of the proposed method, experimental results are presented for an induction motor (IM).
