Development of Clustering and Routing Algorithms in Wireless Sensor Networks

This article presents a newly developed integrated clustering and routing algorithm for wireless sensor networks. To improve the existing algorithms with a multi-stage data transmission mechanism and analyze their energy efficiency, the performance of the new algorithm is evaluated by comparing it with the existing algorithms in a simulation environment. The simulation results show that the developed routing algorithm is very effective in increasing the overall network uptime, improving the throughput, and ensuring energy efficiency. Key technical factors should be considered when designing energy-efficient routing algorithms. The analysis results of the LEACH and MODLEACH routing algorithms used in wireless sensor networks are presented. It is shown that the routing algorithms play an important role in optimizing the energy consumption and power consumption of sensor nodes, increasing the overall network lifetime and service life. The analysis results show that the proposed multi-stage routing algorithm consumes less power than the LEACH and MODLEACH algorithms.
