A Color Measurement Calibration Method for Color Vision Deficiency Degree

Color Vision Deficiency (CVD) is a hereditary ocular condition that impairs the ability to distinguish colors, affecting approximately 200 million individuals globally. This deficiency significantly hinders their capacity to effectively perform tasks related to color and visualization. Albeit numerous image recoloring methods and CVD simulation models proposed in the existing studies, CVD degree calibration method is required for these methods, while there is currently no specific method to accurately determine the perceptual color gamut of CVD patients. In this study, we propose a personalized color gamut measurement model. Our model builds on the existing CVD simulation model and incorporates results from the Farnsworth-Munsell 100 Hue Test ($\mathbf{1 0 0}$-Hue test) to simulate the visual perception of individuals with red-green color blindness, establishing a personalized color gamut measurement approach. To validate the effectiveness of our method, we conducted qualitative evaluation experiments, which confirmed the efficacy of the proposed model.
