QoS-Guaranteed MIMO SWIPT Assisted by Dynamic Metasurface Antenna

Dynamic metasurface antenna (DMA) offers a promising solution for achieving eco-friendly massive multipleinput multiple-output (MIMO) antenna arrays with lower hardware costs and compact inter-element spacing. Additionally, integrating simultaneous wireless information and power transfer (SWIPT) technology into DMA-assisted massive MIMO systems enables simultaneous tackling of communication and charging demands for different terminals. In view of this, we investigate a harvested power maximization problem in the DMA-assisted MIMO SWIPT system while guaranteeing the rate quality-ofservice (QoS) of information terminals. In particular, an efficient algorithm based on block coordinate descent(BCD) method is proposed for designing the DMA weights, the digital precoding vectors, and the linear receivers. The proposed algorithm primarily adopts semidefinite relaxation (SDR), matrix vectorization, successive convex approximation (SCA), and penalty function method to transform the original problem into a tractable convex one. Simulation results demonstrate that our proposed scheme outperforms the hybrid A/D scheme in harvested power while guaranteeing the QoS requirements for information terminals.
