An Adaptive Power Flow Controller for Single Stage Half-Bridge-Matrix Dual Active Bridge DC-AC Converter

This article proposes an adaptive power flow control technique for integrating battery storage to AC grid using a single stage DC-AC converter. A half-bridge-matrix based dual active bridge converter is used as the power electronic interface. The adaptive power flow control is designed to synchronize the converter voltage with the grid voltage using a phase locked loop and controls the injection of grid current. The knowledge of system parameter like line and converter leakage inductance and initial conditions are not required for the operation of proposed control method. Moreover, the controller is robust to any disturbances introduced into the system by the source and load. The system has been verified in MATLAB/Simulink platform and tested in real time experimental setup to demonstrate its applicability.
