Research on the Beam Regulation Method of Liquid Crystal Optical Phased Array Based on Fractional-Order Pid

This paper proposes a fractional-order PID beam steering control method for liquid crystal optical phased array, taking into account the fractional-order characteristics of the device. To address the challenge of parameters tuning for fractional-order PID controller, a phase margin method is employed to optimize the controller parameters. This method automatically adjusts the controller parameters based on the dynamic characteristics of the liquid crystal phased array, thereby enhancing the control performance. The device is validated through simulations involving step response test, tracking performance test, and robustness performance test. Experimental results indicate that the fractional-order PID controller tuned using the phase margin method can significantly improve the dynamic characteristics and robustness of the beam steering in the liquid crystal phased array device, enabling fast, precise, and stable beam pointing.
