A Method for Building an Equivalent Model of the Wind Farm Station Based on the Actual Short-Circuit Capacity of the Wind Farm

Due to the various limitations of the electromechanical transient detailed model of wind farms in the calculation of the safety and stability of large power grids, such as computing resources, time limits and response speeds, the simplified equivalent model is usually used instead of the detailed model. However, the actual characteristics of the equivalent model often fail to reflect the operational characteristics of the detailed model in all aspects. Therefore, the paper proposes a method for building an equivalent model of the station based on the actual short-circuit capacity in the electromechanical transient modeling test of wind farms. The detailed and equivalent modeling models of the electromechanical transient of a certain wind farm are built in the PSASP (Power System Analysis Software Package) software. From the perspective of the safe and stable calculation of the large power grid, considering the actual short-circuit capacity of the output lines of the wind farm, the simulation results under the two model construction methods are compared and analyzed to verify the validity of the equivalent model, providing effective support for the application of the equivalent model of the wind farm and the safe and stable calculation of the large power grid.
