Next-Gen FPGA PWM Techniques for High-Performance Inverter Control

One fundamental element of contemporary electronics is voltage regulation via PWM. Inverters frequently regulate the velocity of electric motors. Two primary approaches for generating PWM are analog and digital. This study examines both methodologies, highlighting their distinct advantages and downsides. We also examine the second technique; nevertheless, our main focus is on the first one. Producing two digital PWM circuit boards and developing corresponding VHDL codes with Xilinx tools would facilitate the implementation of the proposed methodology. ChipScope Pro enabled us to accurately incorporate them in our chip. Upon reviewing the synthesis report, we assessed the implementation and efficacy of the logic. Our analysis indicates that the second digital PWM outperformed the first. This second type enhances the overall efficiency of the inverter device by offering specific advantages. In contrast to the second type, which requires less logic, the first type presents issues that hinder comprehensive inverter control.
