Applied Study of Computational Optimization of ID3 Algorithm

This paper briefly analyzes the basic principle of the ID3 algorithm, as well as its main advantages and disadvantages. Considering that the calculation process of the traditional ID3 algorithm is complex and involves a large amount of computation, the information gain formula of candidate attributes is simplified by using the power - series expansion of Taylor's formula. A large number of log - function calculations are converted into simple addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division operations, which greatly improves the algorithm's calculation efficiency. Through experimental comparison, it is found that the calculation cost can be reduced by about 20%.
