An Efficient Algorithm for Discrete Wavelet Transform

The Mallat algorithm is widely used in discrete wavelet transform (DWT) for efficient multi-resolution signal decomposition. In this paper, a new algorithm based on the Mallat algorithm for Discrete Wavelet Transform is proposed, which can further reduce the multiplication numbers. The new algorithm also has a symmetrical structure with promising applications.
