Acquisition of Intelligent Design Knowledge Driven by UGC: Technical Approaches, Challenges, and Prospects

Effectively transforming massive, unstructured User-Generated Content (UGC) into actionable design inputs presents a computational and systems engineering challenge for intelligent product design. This paper systematically reviews state-of-the-art methodologies for extracting and analyzing product features from UGC to support intelligent design. Building on this, this paper identifies technical bottlenecks and challenges of integrating these data-driven workflows into industrial design processes. Finally, it outlines future research opportunities aiming to provide a technical reference for developing next-generation intelligent design decision support systems.
