AI-Driven Energy-Efficient and Secure Communication Protocol for 5G and 6G Networks

As 5G networks grow and 6G comes into being, maintaining security and energy efficiency continues to be an essential challenge. Current communication protocols are either performance-oriented with non-optimized power use or implement static security that brings about huge energy overhead. This paper introduces an AI-based communication protocol that adapts encryption levels and assigns resources in real-time network conditions. To do this, we develop a mathematical model for the security-energy trade-off, including AI-based adaptive encryption scaling, and create a THz communication model that combines beamforming efficiency and hybrid RF-THz switching for efficient energy use. We also propose a standardized protocol that harmonizes security and energy efficiency approaches across various 6G applications. The new protocol utilizes AI-aided OFDMA, adaptive security levels, and THz beamforming to improve both network security and energy efficiency. Simulation results show 50% energy savings with excellent security, making this framework a strong contender for wireless networks of the future.
