An Efficient Distributed Auditing Scheme with Secure User Revocation

Integrity Auditing is a typical mechanism for getting an assurance of correctness of outsourced data at the cloud. Data integrity auditing work majorly depends on the Third Party Auditor (TPA) which cannot fully be trusted. Distributed Auditing (DBA) mechanism involves the end-users in the auditing process and eliminates the requirement of TPA and converts the scheme from probabilistic to deterministic. Although DBA has many advantages but it comes with several challenges too. To ensure that the auditing work is done by the valid users, timely revocation of access upon resignation or detection of malicious activity is essential. This paper presents a distributed auditing mechanism with secure user revocation which ensures that along with continuous auditing, the check is applied on the users of the system. A comparison and analysis are conducted between the proposed technique and the other similar schemes. Research demonstrates that the proposed scheme is safe and works better than many other similar schemes with respect to data owner’s computation cost, the communication cost and user revocation cost between the participating entities.
