Model-based Adjustable Carrier Frequency Offset Generator Design for mmWave Array Communication System

This paper presents the design and hardware implementation of an adjustable carrier frequency generator for mmWave communication systems using the CORDIC algorithm, driven by phase input from a delay-based ROM. The system was implemented on a ZedBoard FPGA using Xilinx Vivado and verified on an mmWave platform through RF loopback testing in the Jupyter environment. The proposed work emphasizes rapid development, simplified debugging through a modular and hierarchical architecture, and flexible fixed-point precision tuning for performance analysis. The paper also provides a clear and structured explanation of the complete design flow, from waveform generation to RF validation. Experimental results demonstrate high accuracy, robustness, and practical applicability for real-time mmWave systems.
