Approach for Automated Batch Evaluation of MOSFET Losses in Power Electronic Converters Based on System Level Simulation and Program Scripting

Modelling and simulation capabilities are of key importance during the development of electronic devices. The current work presents an automated system for evaluation of losses in MOSFET switches in power electronic converters. The presented script-based system is implemented using the Plexim power electronic simulation software and allows for batch evaluation of the performance of various switching components in a specific power electronic converter topology. The developed automated system is experimentally evaluated in a study on the losses of Si MOSFET and GaN switches operating under different control parameters in a power electronic converter using a Single Ended Primary-Inductor Converter (SEPIC) topology.
