High Precision Measurement of the Air Temperature Using Resistance Temperature Detector Pt100 Sensor

This study presents a methodology for highprecision air temperature measurement using a Pt100 resistance temperature detector (RTD). The system is based on the calibration and signal conditioning of the RTD sensor using the MCP609 operational amplifier, with data acquisition and processing carried out via the multi-channel LabJack UE9 DAQ board. The configuration supports simultaneous measurements from multiple RTD sensors and incorporates compensation techniques to enhance accuracy. The methodology has been implemented in a laboratory setting, where engineering students actively participate in building the measurement system, configuring both hardware and software, and analyzing and visualizing the acquired data. Integration with software environments such as LabVIEW and MATLAB not only facilitates data processing and visualization but also helps students develop essential skills in programming, metrology, and data analysis. The proposed methodology is suitable for both educational and industrial applications, contributing to improved precision in temperature measurements and system optimization.
