Joint CFR-DPD Approach in FTTR C-WAN Architecture

To overcome the limitations of traditional crest factor reduction-digital predistortion (CFR-DPD) techniques in fiber-to-the-room (FTTR) systems, this paper introduces the model-based CFR-DPD (MCFR-DPD) technology within the context of the Centralized/Cloud Wireless Optical Access Network (C-WAN) architecture. By simultaneously optimizing both CFR and DPD, the MCFR-DPD approach achieves significant peak power reduction and signal linearization, while also minimizing resource consumption. This dual optimization not only enhances system performance in terms of signal integrity but also improves the overall efficiency of the C-WAN architecture, making it better suited for high-demand, resource-constrained environments.
