EINS_AR: Enhanced Indoor Navigation System using Augmented Reality with Dynamic Path Adjustement

Indoor navigation presents major challenges due to the lack of reliable GPS signals in enclosed spaces. This project suggests an Augmented Reality (AR)-based indoor navigation system that makes use of spatial mapping, visual positioning, and AI-driven path finding to provide real-time, interactive navigation assistance. By using spatial anchors and AR overlays, users can easily see their path, interact with navigation points, and also get real-time guidance based on their current location. The system we’re using is designed to make indoor navigation smooth and reliable. It adjusts the path in real-time as users move, even through multiple rooms, so the guidance feels natural and uninterrupted. To keep things realistic, it uses occlusion handling—meaning it doesn’t show the path going through walls or other obstacles, which helps users trust what they see. The process starts with capturing the indoor environment and creating a spatial map. Then, after this a navigation mesh is being built, and waypoints are also set up to help users in each step. The app is developed in Unity by using the Immersal Mapper SDK, making it more easy to adjust for places like public areas. Overall, this AR-based model makes the navigation much easier in order to follow, more accurate, and also a user-friendly—particularly in places where ordinary maps or signs may fall short.
