Reachable Set Control of Cyber-Physical Systems With Markov Jump Parameters and Hybrid Attacks

This study explores the reachable set issue for a category of Markov jump cyber-physical systems subjected to hybrid attacks. Firstly, based on the resilient event-triggered condition, a new lemma is proposed, which proves that the reachable set of the system exists under a certain degree of Denial-of-Service (DoS) attack. Secondly, considering the influence of false data injection (FDI) attacks and DoS attacks, a suitable controller is designed. Then, sufficient conditions for the existence of reachable sets under non-zero initial conditions were derived through the Lyapunov-Krasovskii (L-K) functional method and linear matrix inequality (LMI) techniques. Finally, the simulation results of the F-18 aircraft demonstrate the efficacy of the proposed method. Note to Practitioners—As the interaction between network security and physical systems becomes increasingly complex, especially when facing various attacks such as DoS attacks and FDI attacks, ensuring system stability has become an important issue. This study proposes a new method to address the issue of how to ensure that the system can transition from the initial state to the target state (i.e. reachable set problem) under the influence of hybrid attacks. The key contribution of this study is that even in the event of a system attack, a method can still be found to ensure that the system’s operation is not severely disrupted. The purpose of the study is to design a controller and combine it with a mathematical tool (L-K functional) to enable the system to respond effectively to these attacks and avoid overly conservative results caused by the attacks. For practical applications, this research can help fields that rely on networks and physical systems (such as unmanned aerial vehicles, industrial automation equipment, etc.) to improve their robustness against network attacks. For example, aircraft like the F-18 can still ensure safe flight and reach their designated location in the face of network interruptions or data tampering during flight. This method provides a new approach for designing more reliable control systems in practical engineering.
