Numerical Integration as a Tool to Detect Trigeminy's Elements in Electric Heart Signals

This study is related with detection of trigeminy's elements in electric heart signals - distorted heartbeat signals (HBS). 51 signals (19 with deviations, 34 clear) were analyzed. Parameter based on numerical integration is designed to achieve the purpose. That parameter is area under the curve (AUC) of HBS. Original and mean values of AUC in sequences of three in-a-row HBS were estimated. Mean relative error ($\delta_{\mathrm{m}}$) is proposed as inclusion criterion to detect the presence or absence of trigeminy. Rician distribution was selected to analyze threshold value $\boldsymbol{\delta}_{\mathbf{m t}}=\mathbf{0. 1 2 2}$ using maximal likelihood criterion. Probability of correct decision Porr $=0.784$. Main advantage of developed algorithm is that calculation of proposed parameters (AUC and $\delta_{\mathrm{m}}$) is simple, thus, procedure of trigeminy's determination is performed fast.
