Construction of a Linear Binary Code with Maximum Coding Rate

The article investigates the construction of linear binary codes designed to achieve maximum coding rates for various minimum code distances, with a focus on approaching theoretical boundaries such as the Hamming and Singleton bounds. It thoroughly examines the Hamming code for a minimum code distance of three, highlighting its near-optimal coding rate and straightforward construction using a lexicographic parity-check matrix. For scenarios involving higher minimum code distances, particularly five or greater, the study addresses the significant challenge of managing the exponential growth in possible codeword combinations, which complicates finding optimal solutions. To overcome this, a novel algorithm is proposed to efficiently identify valid codewords by leveraging principal and adjacent matrices. This algorithm utilizes recursive matrix properties and modulo-two operations to significantly reduce computational complexity, making the search process more manageable. The research places strong emphasis on analyzing the weight spectrum of codes, as it directly influences their error-correcting performance under real-world interference conditions. This analysis is critical for ensuring robust data transmission in telecommunication systems. By providing a systematic method for constructing codes that maintain high coding rates while meeting specified errorcorrecting requirements, the study contributes valuable insights to the field of coding theory and its practical applications in modern communication systems.
