Analysis of Color Rendering Characteristics and Dynamic Range of Small-Format Cameras for Applied Television

The introduction of small format cameras into application television systems faces the challenge of ensuring a professional level of image quality, especially in terms of color rendering and dynamic range. This article is devoted to solving this problem through a detailed analysis of the characteristics of modern small-sized cameras. The methodology is based on objective laboratory tests and field tests relevant for applied TV. The data obtained demonstrate how well existing small-format cameras meet the reference requirements for color and contrast. The article systematizes the limitations of these cameras, suggests criteria for their selection for specific TV applications, and discusses practical approaches to hardware and software correction of identified deficiencies to achieve acceptable image quality.
