Three-axis acceleration measurement for axial and bending mode applications in Launch Vehicles

Acceleration is an important parameter measured in launch vehicles. Measurement of acceleration over certain frequency range gives important insights about the behaviour of a particular region of the launch vehicles.A MEMS-based Tri-axial Accelerometer (TA) is designed and realized to measure low frequency acceleration in a launch vehicle. This paper details the unique challenge faced in these measurements and the corrective actions implemented and demonstrated in hardware which are delivered for flight.
