Enhancing Sustainability in Robotic Manipulators: Review on Metaheuristic Algorithms

This research reviews metaheuristic algorithms optimizing Super Twisting Sliding Mode Control (STSMC) for robotic manipulators. Traditional PID controllers have been reported to have issues with nonlinearities and disturbances issues. The present study accentuates some of the advanced algorithms like PSO, SSO, GWO, FLC, and WOA, which are reported to have enhanced STSMC’s trajectory tracking, robustness, and convergence. These optimized control systems improve precision and boost energy efficiency, supporting sustainable manufacturing and automation. The study’s comparative analysis highlights the potential of the strategies for achieving excellence and sustainability in the robotics field.
