IntelliPark-Intelligent IoT-based Parking System

Develop a smart system that prioritizes users to determine distribution of office and residential areas parking spaces as a solution for parking management. The implementation involved an IoT-Internet of Things Smart Parking system that worked on ESP8266. This model of an assigned booking system, allow users to donate available parking spaces at no cost to authenticated users, as per time slots in the particular area, on technical fest college campuses. Urban parking problems lead to fuel, congestion, fuel consumption and emissions to increase the car ownership and disable manual system. This paper describes an IoT-based parking system, using infrared sensors and ESP8266 modules to track uses in real time, which has been integrated with the flask-based management system, MySQL database and YOLO model for object detection under surveillance it provides GPS navigation to the booked slot via leaflet maps. The main features include overstays to maximize the use and a backup slot feature to avoid dynamic pricing. Pilot tests in rural areas indicate low search time, low congestion and better stability, and therefore the solution can be made adaptable to the smart city infrastructure and more metropolitan mobility. The study utilized the idea of an automated parking system based on the real-time detection of vacant parking spots through the use of sensors on an IoT platform. The ESP8266 platform controlled automated system provides service to all platform users by means of scheduling procedures according to user priorities. Operator priority assignment is only available in automatic systems and the standard systems do not include this function. The smart parking system performs an online data entry to modifies priorities of the users that follow a first-come-first-served policy to reserve parking spaces.
