IoT based Compression Socks with Sensor for Proper Blood Circulation of Leg

In modern healthcare, a significant proportion of patients endure blood circulation complications, requiring efficient methods to maintain blood flow. Poor blood circulation, particularly in lower limbs, is a common concern for people with chronic health conditions for the elderly and those with motionless lifestyles. Poor blood circulation can cause DVT, Heart diseases, Varicose veins and related conditions. Compression stockings, designed to apply targeted pressure on the lower limbs, play a crucial role in maintaining blood flow, alleviating discomfort, and reducing swelling. However, traditional compression socks lack the ability to monitor real-time circulatory status and generate pressure dynamically based on the patient's needs, making it difficult to detect early-stage abnormalities. To address this issue, this research presents an innovative solution IoT-based compression socks with sensors that continuously track the patient's blood flow, body temperature and compression level on the lower limbs. These sensors provide real-time data which is wirelessly transmitted via Wi-Fi module to the system. The data is accessible through a user-friendly web interface, enabling both the patients and doctors to monitor the circulation data and receive emergency alerts when abnormalities are detected. A prototype was developed and tested, showing over 93% sensor accuracy under controlled conditions. The system effectively tracks circulatory changes in real time and supports early detection, reduces risk and improves circulatory health. This research marks a step forward in wearable healthcare, combining compression therapy with real-time physiological monitoring. The proposed solution offers smart solutions and continuous support and has strong potential to enhance patient outcomes in blood circulation management.
