A Linear Programming Approach for Battery Impairment Analysis and Optimization in Decentralized Power Systems for Agricultural Operations With Solar Energy Integration

Energy system researchers are concentrating on reserve systems and reserve synthesis as these subjects show good potential for reducing the price of sustainable energy production. Especially, decentralized power systems have drawn much attention all around the globe as they enable rural areas to get cheap energy without having to spend a fortune enlarging current infrastructure. Such systems often include batteries as well as other backup mechanisms. A key factor affecting the cost-effectiveness of decentralized systems is the impairment of batteries caused by continuous filling and draining. We provide linear range models for the optimal management of distributed systems for agricultural and farming uses where steady energy is required for activities such as watering crops, maintaining greenhouse temperatures, and food reserve for later use.
