Stakeholder: A Carbon Footprint Reduction Assistance Smartphone Application With Decarbonisation Plan and Carbon Tracking Features

Reducing carbon emissions can benefit the environment and local economy while reducing health risks, climate change, and extreme weather occurrences. In the earlier carbon footprint-related research work there was no useful mobile or web-based support system for people with daily carbon emission tracking, carbon reduction suggestions, carbon offset project search, report GHG emission, and query assistant features. To mitigate the prior limitations, this paper presents a smart phone application to help reduce carbon emissions with features including carbon footprint tracking, carbon reduction suggestions, green story verification, GHG emission reporting, and carbon friendliness detection. Carbon offset project search, work alert, decarburization plan, eco-friendly supplier search, and query help features are also included in the proposed mobile application. The app’s usefulness and service capabilities evaluation results showed that over 52% of consumers dispatched highly gratified remarks for the proposed application.
