Integrating Interior Design Elements into Virtual Field Trip Spaces in the Metaverse

The rapid development of metaverse technology presents new opportunities for creating immersive and interactive virtual field trip spaces. This study explores the integration of interior design elements into these virtual environments to enhance realism and user experience. The research methodology involves analysing key design components such as layout, lighting, texture, and colour, combined with user experience testing. Using an experimental design-based approach, a virtual field trip prototype was developed with 3D interior design software and a metaverse platform. Findings indicate that effective spatial zoning, appropriate virtual materials, and dynamic lighting significantly enhance visual comfort, spatial orientation, and user engagement. This study contributes to design guidelines for developing aesthetically pleasing and functional virtual spaces that serve educational and recreational purposes. The results have practical implications across various sectors, including education, tourism, and entertainment.
