Sustainable Irrigation System Using Solar Panel Tracking and IoT Integration

Sustainable agriculture depends on effective water management, especially in areas with scarce energy and water resources. An IoT-based irrigation solar tracking system with a clever framing mechanism is presented in this paper. For automated water distribution, the system uses an ESP32 microcontroller to collect the real-time data from temperature and soil moisture sensors, and it turns on the irrigation pump when necessary. A timer-based solar panel is implemented to increase energy efficiency. Surplus energy is stored in the battery unit to ensure an uninterrupted system operation during nighttime or during the rainy season. The system is integrated with the Blynk IoT platform for remote monitoring and controlling, which enables farmers to receive live updates and also be able to adjust the operation of the system when needed from the mobile application. In addition to reducing water usage by up to 30%, the system's testing and simulation show that the solar panel's energy output is increased by 20-25% when compared to a static panel. These outcomes demonstrate how well the system supports intelligent farming methods in limited settings, thereby lowering energy and water waste.
