An Agent Based Simulation for an Inter-satellite Communication Network of Smart-Satellite-Swarm

A smart satellite is a satellite with autonomy and many smart satellites can be organized as a Smart Satellite Swarm (SSS) to complete an Inter-satellite Data Transmission Task (IDTT). An inter-satellite communication network of smart satellite swarm (ICNS) is created from the SSS during the IDTT. This paper proposed a method to study Agent-based Simulation for Inter-satellite Communication Network of Smart-satelliteswarm (ASICNS) which will examine the role and contribution of the ICNS during the IDTT. The basic idea of ASICNS is to model an SSS as a system-of-systems and describe an ICNS as a behavior emerged by the SSS using the Agent-Based Modeling and Simulation (ABMS) methodology. The framework of ASICNS is divided into an entity domain, a data domain and a society domain and members of the three domains are inextricably linked. Finally, a typical ICNS simulation model was made and an ICNS simulation was conducted in order to verify the proposed method.
