Research on the Dynamic Operation and Path Optimization of "Bench Dragon" Dance Performance

In this paper, the path planning and safety concerns in the "Bench Dragon" performance are investigated. To improve both the safety and fluidity of the "Bench Dragon" performance in complex environments, this study aims to design precise path planning and collision detection strategies. First, a path planning model based on the Archimedean spiral is established, and the distances and velocity distributions between adjacent benches in the dragon dance team are accurately determined using numerical integration and the bisection method. Next, a collision detection method is proposed, which monitors the distance between adjacent benches in real time and assesses whether it falls below a safety threshold. Simulation results indicate that the first collision between the dragon's head and body occurs at 412 seconds. Lastly, to meet the requirement of a 9-meter diameter turnaround area, a recursive algorithm is employed to determine the minimum feasible pitch of 0.42 meters, ensuring that direction changes can be executed without collisions.
