MPLS-based in-vehicle network test environment construction methodology

With the advancement of automotive intelligence and connectivity, the electrical and electronic (E/E) architecture of vehicles is gradually evolving toward domain-centralized, zone-centralized, and central computing-based architectures. The E/E architecture determines the in-vehicle network topology, which serves as the physical foundation for communication among components. Current mainstream in-vehicle communication technologies, such as CAN, LIN, and FlexRay, coexist as multiple network modalities within the vehicular network. However, the diversity of architectures and network modalities poses challenges to the construction of a unified testing platform. Traditional gateway testing methods suffer from insufficient coverage, lack of real-time performance, and determinism, making them inadequate for testing demands in complex in-vehicle network environments. To address these issues, this paper proposes a method for constructing an MPLS-based in-vehicle network testing environment. By leveraging the core principles of MPLS, this method fulfills the forwarding and switching requirements of multi-protocol test data packets during vehicle-wide testing. It resolves the challenges of building a testing environment under conditions where diverse E/E architectures and heterogeneous network modalities coexist.
